Stevens Finishes Fifth

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (September 10, 2016) – Junior
Chris Banko of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country team placed eighth at the Vassar Ron Stonitsch Invitational.
Williams College, RPI, New York University and host Vassar College finished ahead of the Ducks.
"I was happy with our men," said Head Coach
Justin Wood. "They executed well and put together a solid race. We were without a few of our top guys too so I expect some good things once we are full strength."
Banko turned in a time of 19:37.0, two ticks behind the seventh place finisher. Sophomore
Doug Wrede was second on the team with a mark of 20:00.3, while freshman
Jake Catalano was 38th in 20:20.1 Catalano was making his collegiate debut.
Just five seconds behind Catalano was sophomore
Tom Selvaggi, who was 43rd in 20:25.4. Classmate
Michael Gormley rounded out the scoring for Stevens, finishing 71st. Sophomore
Ryan Little and junior
Nathan Schaefer also were in the top seven, as Little recorded a time of 21:05.6.
