Ithaca Takes Fourth at Hamilton
RESULTS
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's cross country team opened their 2016 season at the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational on Saturday in Clinton, N.Y. on the campus' golf course. Ithaca finished fourth overall as a team with 88 points.
Senior
Sean Phillips took individual top honors on the 5K course with a time of 15:31.7, which was just under four seconds faster than the runner-up from Oneonta.
Fellow senior
Chris Gutierrez finished next for the Bombers with a 17th place showing in 16:21.5.
Ithaca's next three runners, freshmen Chris Tinti and
Jeff Montgomery and sophomore
Daniel Hart placed 22nd to 25th to round out the Bombers' top five.
Tinti finished in 16:38.1 (22nd), Montgomery followed at 16:38.7 (23rd) and Hart was 25th with a time of 16:41.4.
Senior
Shane Connor was just outside the top five with a time of 16:44.2, while freshman Pat Robertson completed the course in 16:47.3.
Oneonta won the meet with 25 points, as all five of its top runners placed within the first eight runners.
Ithaca is back on action on Sept. 17 at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational.
