UC Men's Cross Country Places 7th at Ron Stonitsch Invite
Poughkeepsie, NY – The Utica College men's cross country team placed seventh out of 14 teams at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational 6K hosted by Vassar College on Saturday. UC posted a total time of 1:42:47 and an average 6K time of 20:33.
Utica's
Tyler Wright (Little Falls, NY/West Canada Valley) placed first on the team and 36
th overall with a time of 20:15.3 and an average mile time of 5:25.9.
Erik Winberg (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) put together an impressive race for Utica as he placed 47
th overall with a time of 20:29.0, while
Liam Rodgers (Syracuse, NY/Westhill ) added a 57
th place finish with a time of 20:36.5.
Mitchell Marlow (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) placed 65
th out of 238 runners with a time of 20:42.5 and
Brian Attas (Hopatcong, NJ/Hopatcong) placed 68
th with a time of 20:44.9. Sophomore
Nick Ashton (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) placed 84
th with a time of 20:59.3.
Daniel Block (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem North) added a time of 21:01.6,
Anthony Mitchell (Canastota, NY/Canastota) finished with a 21:33.6 and freshman
Leland Frink (Baldwinsville, NY/Baker) posted a time of 21:33.7. UC's
Brandon Eagle (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) rounded out the Pioneers top ten and placed 122
nd overall with a time of 21:37.0.
The Pioneers will travel to Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ next weekend to compete in the Bill Fritz Invitational. Rowan's course will also play host to the NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Atlantic Regionals on November 12, 2016.
