Nazaret Begins Season at Flower City Invitational

Men's Results

ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth opened up the 2016 season at the Flower City Invitational, hosted by St. John Fisher College.  Nazareth's women squad ran to a third place finish, while the men took sixth place.

RIT won on the women's side with 36 points, followed by Geneseo (52), Nazareth (71), St. John Fisher (78), Rochester (115) and Brockport (178).  Geneseo took the top spot on the men's side with 37 points, followed by RIT (40), St. John Fisher (53), Rochester (132),  Brockport (140) and Nazareth (141).

For the men, senior Matt Battaglia paced the way in 21:04 over the 6-klilometer course for a 17th place finish. 

Freshman Nicasio Gristina had a strong first showing, coming in 19th place at 21:07.

Jack Wessel (22:31), Thomas Lannon (22:41) and Edward Ely (22:45) rounded out the scoring for Nazareth in 34th, 35th and 36th place.

Jacob Murray and Jaxon Smith also ran for Nazareth.

The Golden Flyers will compete next at the UR Invitational at Genesee Valley Park on September 17.
