ONEONTA, NY – The Hartwick women's tennis team remains undefeated with a win over conference opponent Houghton. Going perfect in doubles and dropping just one singles match granted Hartwick an 8-1 victory and a perfect season clip of 3-0. Empire 8 member Houghton drops to 1-2.

Houghton entered today's match having won its last contest 7-2 over Pitt-Bradford. Hartwick boasted a two-game win streak coming into today.

The Hawks went perfect at the #2 flight doubles to the credit of Kelly Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) and Kelli Ryan (Plattsburgh, NY/Seton Catholic) trumping the Highlanders' Jacquelyn Lewis and Amy Brennfleck. Hartwick only dropped four games in doubles with the duos of Rose Natoli (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) and Heidi Rice (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) at #1 and Jaclyn LaSita (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) and Caitlin O'Brien (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) at #3 earning 8-3 and 8-1 marks, respectively.

Rice registered a seamless win in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 score over the Highlanders' #1 flight representative.

O'Brien also did not drop a single game at the #5 slot. She too earned a 6-0, 6-0 mark to top Amanda Carl of Houghton.

After falling 6-2, Natoli bounced back to earn a 7-5 score at the #2 flight spot. Unfortunately, a tiebreaker in favor of the opposition 10-4 would give Laura Jacuzzo the point.

The Hawks will look to win four matches straight in a battle with SUNY Delhi on the road, September 14th.
