Utica Rallies for E8 Victory Over Elmira
Utica, NY – The Utica College women's tennis team rallied for a 5-4 victory over visiting Elmira College in Empire 8 Conference action on Friday night. The match began outside on the Utica College tennis courts but was moved inside to the Todd & Jen Hutton Sports & Recreation Center due to darkness. LuLu Zhang (Wenzhou, China /Newcomers) earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in fifth singles and then
Anastasia Fitzpatrick (Parksville, NY/Liberty) sealed the win with a thrilling three set (6-7, 6-2, 6-4) victory in fourth singles over Elmira's Danielle Bliss.
Utica's record moved to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 Conference action. The Pioneers return to the courts on Saturday when they travel to St. John Fisher College for a conference contest at 4 p.m. Elmira's record dropped to 1-2 on the year.

Sara Gribanoff (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) and
Anastasia Fitzpatrick (Parksville, NY/Liberty) teamed up for an 8-4 win in second doubles.
