Ithaca Wins Hamilton Short Course
RESULTS
CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's cross country team won their first meet of the 2016 season at the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational on Saturday at Hamilton's golf course in Clinton, N.Y. Ithaca totaled 30 points as four of its five runners placed within the top nine finishers.
Junior
Taryn Cordani led the way on the 4K course with a time of 14:11.2, while classmate
Denise Ibarra was the runner-up in 14:53.4.
Graduate student
Michaela Cioffredi took seventh overall in 15:25.8. Sophomore Emily Mertz followed with a time of 15:34.5 to come in ninth overall.
Freshman Annika Morrison rounded on Ithaca's top five with an 11th place finish in 15:37.6.
Junior
Alexis Kindig and senior
Emily Drain completed the event in 14th and 15th in times of 15:53.3 and 15:59.7.
Oneonta also accumulated 30 team points but finished with a team average time of 15:18.7, compared to 15:08.5 for the Bombers.
Ithaca is back on action on Sept. 17 at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational.
