The St. John Fisher College men's cross country program posted solid times at Saturday's University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park.  The Cardinals placed three individual runners in the top 20, while the team finished sixth overall and third in the region, beating out Hamilton College, Ithaca College, as well as SUNY Geneseo, who entered the invitational ranked second nationally.

Mac Milligan was Fisher's top finisher, posting a time of 26:30, good for 11th place overall.  James Felice (26:47 - 17th) and Charles Collins (26:54 - 19th) also enjoyed top-20 finishes.

Ithaca senior Sean Phillips paced the Bombers with a third place showing in a time 25:44.9, which was 1.5 seconds behind the runner-up from St. Lawrence.

Freshman Jeff Montgomery was next to cross the line for Ithaca in a time of 27:09.5 to take 32nd overall. SeniorChris Gutierrez followed closely behind in 37th with a time of 27:14.4.

Senior Shane Connor and sophomore Daniel Hart rounded out Ithaca's top five in 60th and 74th in scoring. Connor, who was 63rd overall, clocked a time of 27:48.3. Hart was 79th in the field with a personal best time of 28:02.7.

Nazareth was 18th as a team and Nicasio Gristina paved the way over the 8-kilometer course with a  27:52.6, good for 66th place.  Senior Matt Battaglia chugged in at 28:26.9 for 92nd place.

 Alfred took 21st of 29 teams participating. The Saxons' top runner was senior Kevin Dixon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen), who took 54th on the 8-kilometer course in 27:36.80. Sophomore Jordan Schools (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing Valley)was 124th in 30:06.30 and junior Matthew Finley (Holland, NY/Holland) was 147th in 31:37.30.
