Stevens Women's Cross Country Wins Airfield Invitational
RESULTS
ONEONTA, N.Y. (September 17, 2016) – Senior
Amy Regan and sophomore
Mary Visca finished first and second to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross country team to a first place win at the Oneonta Airfield Invitational.
For the second straight week, the Ducks fared better than a team in the USFTCCCA top-10, this time besting No. 7 Oneonta. Stevens tallied 27 points, while Oneonta had 28.
"The women executed the race strategy perfectly," Head Coach
Justin Wood said. "Oneonta's 4 and 5 runners were closing hard but we had positioned far enough up to hold them off. This is a great win for us after beating #11 RPI last week."
The top-10 runners came from either Stevens or host Oneonta, led by the duo of Regan and Visca. The senior finished in 16:13.6 while Visca strode in at 16:25.2. No one got within 25 seconds of those two, but the next three finishers belonged to the Red Dragons.
