ITHACA, N.Y. – Although the Ithaca College men's lacrosse season is still several months away, the Bombers have been diligently working through its non-traditional fall practice schedule since arriving on campus for the fall semester. However, took a break from the rigors of its fall practice schedule to take part in a community service project this past Sunday when it volunteered for a third straight year at the annual "Walk to End Alzheimers" event, hosted by the Central New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

"The opportunity to support this great cause is something that our guys enjoy and look forward to each fall," head coach Jeff Long said. "We take great pride in helping to raise funds and awareness for this great cause, with the hope to one day find a cure."

Volunteering at the fundraising walk, hosted annually at Ithaca's Cass Park, has been a yearly tradition for IC's men's lacrosse over recent years. With fundraising efforts of the Ithaca men, the 2016 walk marked another year of unprecedented success, as the non-profit organization raised over $52,000, more than $6,000 over the set goal and a $10,000 increase over last year's total. All proceeds of the walk were donated to benefit Alzheimer support, care, and research.
