Utica Competes at SUNY Canton Invitational

Canton, NY – The Utica College men's golf team competed at the SUNY Canton Invitational at Partridge Run Golf Course on Friday afternoon.  Utica College's Team 'A' placed third with a team score of 323, while Utica College Team 'B' finished fifth with a team score of 348.  

Utica's Kevin Kirisits (Buffalo, NY/Brockville (CCHL)) was the Pioneers top finisher as he came into the clubhouse with a seven-over, 79, and tied for seventh overall.  Christopher Netto (Watertown, NY/Watertown) posted a 36 on the back nine and finished in a tie for ninth overall with an 80, while Patrick Coughlin (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) was the tournament leader through nine holes with a 35 on the front, but he struggled through the second half of his round and finished the afternoon with an 81.  Aaron Agosto (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) rounded out UC's top four scorers with an 83.

Utica's team 'B' was led by Alec Roback (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) who posted an 84 (42,42), while Colin Nicklaw () was not far behind with an 85 (44,41).  Matthew Fisher (Amityville, NY) finished the afternoon with an 86 for the Pioneers (42,44). 

Utica returns to the course on Tuesday when it travels to Elmira Country Club to compete in the Elmira College Fall Invitational.  The Pioneers will wrap up their Fall season on October 1st and 2nd when they travel to Ravenwood Golf Club in Rochester to participate in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Golf Championships.
