Get to Know: Hannah Ogden

Hannah Ogden is the field hockey coach at Houghton College.
Where did you attend college? I attended Houghton College. I majored in marketing and communication and was a field hockey student-athlete.
What made you chose to attend Houghton College? Houghton is one of those places where you don’t know how you get here. But being here now it is clear that it is the people that makes Houghton so great.
What brought you to Houghton? When I was a student-athlete at Houghton there was a lot of change happening in athletics. We received a beautiful new facility and transitioning to Division III. And I didn’t have the chance to really see it through and it was clear there was a lot of potential because of the changes. So when the opportunity presented itself to come back as a coach it was exciting to be a part of the growth that is happening.
What is the best thing about the Houghton Campus? The way it looks in the Fall and the ice-cream shop.
What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear ‘Houghton’? Home
Who has been the most influential person during your career? My teammates and coach during my time as a student-athlete deserve the credit in molding me into a person who believes in the values of sport, hard work and competition that propelled me into this career choice. My collegiate coach is still very influential.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I really enjoy cooking, not baking.
Top three things on your bucket list?
Get two dogs and name them Bonnie and Clyde.
