MOOSIC, Pa. – The rain stayed away for most of the day, and senior Tyler Huggins (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and The University of Scranton men's golf team took full advantage.

Huggins shot a 5-over-par 76 to take medalist honors and lead the Royals to a 325-346 victory over Marywood at Glenmaura National Golf Club. The win was Scranton's second over its crosstown rival in two tries this fall.

Huggins' 76 was a new career low, surpassing the 78 he shot at Glenmaura back on Sept. 6. He has now broken 80 in three of his five rounds this fall and is averaging 79.2 on the season.

Scranton (5-2) also received a pair of 82s from senior Kevin Nardella (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) and junior Patrick King (Thornton, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep). Senior Steven Lambrinakos (Stamford, Conn./Trinity) and sophomore Brett Lubba (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township) shot matching 85s to round out the team's top four scores.

Scranton will be back in action at Glenmaura National this weekend when the Royals take part in the AGA Collegiate Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
