Hartwick & Ithaca Run at Purple Valley Classic
RESULTS
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Hartwick College and Ithaca College men's cross country teams traveled to Massachusetts on Saturday to compete in the Williams College Purple Valley Classic. Ithaca finished 11th in the team standings out of 23 schools with 342 points. Hartwick finished 20th.
SUNY Geneseo won the meet with 46 points as four of its top five runners placed within the top 10.
Leading the Bombers at the meet was senior
Sean Phillips with a 34th place finish on the 8K course that consisted of 284 runners in that race. Phillips clocked a time of 26:26.8.
Senior
Chris Gutierrez was next to cross for the Bombers in 69th overall at 27:16.3, while junior
Tim Chappell posted a time of 27:31.4 to come in 76th.
Senior
Shane Connor posted a time of 27:36.0 to place 80th, and freshman Chris Tinti was close behind in 83rd at 27:39.2.
Freshman
Forest Stewart finished just outside Ithaca's top five in a time of 27:44.3.
Hartwick senior
Chris Shaw crossed the tape first for the Hawks. He covered the course in a final time of 29:19.9. Classmate
Tim Mahony was not far behind in 30:20.7.
Ethan Pine and
Matt Randall finished just over a second from one another. Pine closed the race in 31:19.9 with Randall finishing in 31:20.4.
