Football Offensive Player – Brockport
Dan Andrews, Senior, RB – Rochester, NY/Franklin
 
Running back Dan Andrews had yet another impressive performance, rushing for 184-yards en route to shattering an almost 20 year old all-time rushing record at Brockport. Adam Rodger tabbed 3,876-yards from 1995-98, but Andrews reached 3,916-yards with a 42-yard run in the fourth quarter. On the day, the senior racked up 184-yards off of 31 carries, leading all running backs with three touchdowns. Andrews also caught six receptions for 36-yards.
 
Football Defensive Player – Ithaca
Pat Minogue, Sophomore, LB – Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor
 
Sophomore Pat Minogue has already been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after his performance in Ithaca's 14-9 win on Saturday over Union. Minogue finished the game with nine total tackles, including three for a loss and one sack. He also forced a fumble which was returned for the game-winning touchdown and intercepted a pass to end the game.
 
Football Special Teams Player – Alfred
Trevor Monk, Junior, PK/P – Liverpool, NY/Liverpool
 
Trevor Monk made all five extra point tries in Alfred's 35-28 season-opening win over Husson, extending his streak of consecutive PATs made to 36. In his first game punting for Alfred, Monk averaged 40 yards per punt on seven punts, landing two inside the opponents' 20 and hitting a long punt of 56 yards. He also averaged 54.3 yards per kickoff on six kicks.
 
Field Hockey Offensive Player – Washington & Jefferson
Judy Yurkofsky, Freshman, Forward – Bel Air, MD/Bel Air
 
Judy Yurkofsky had an instant impact in her first three collegiate games, helping the Presidents to their second 3-0 start in the last three years.  The rookie scored two goals in her debut at Wittenberg (3-2) and added another pair of goals in Saturday's 3-1 win over Bridgewater (Va.). She took six shots between the three games and placed five on goal.
 
Field Hockey Defensive Player –  Hartwick
Shannon Carter, Senior, Goalie – Falls Church, VA/J.E. B. Stuart
 
Shannon Carter led Hartwick to a 2-0 record to start the 2016 season as she made 21 saves with a .913 save percentage. On Thursday she stopped 16 shots in the 2-1 win over RPI and followed it up with a five save effort on Saturday in the 5-1 victory against Keuka College.
 
Men’s Cross Country Runner – St. John Fisher
Mac Milligan, Senior – Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North
 
Mac Milligan led Fisher to a third-place finish in the Fisher Early Season Short Course race on Friday. Milligan tallied a second place finish out of 68 runners in the 6,000-meter race in a time of 19:37.
 
Women’s Cross Country Runner – St. John Fisher
Samantha Van Gee, Senior – Marion, NY/Marion
 
Samantha Van Gee finished fifth out of 86 runners at the Fisher Early Season Short Course. Van Gee finished with a time of 16:03 for the 4,000 meter race.
 
Men’s Golf Athlete – Utica
Patrick Coughlin, Freshman – New Hartford, NY/New Hartford
 
Patrick Coughlin paced Utica at the St. Lawrence Invitational as shot a two-day total of 159. He was tied for sixth after the first round with a 75 (+3) and finished in a tie for 17th place out of 61 golfers after shooting an 84 on the second day.
 
Women’s Golf Player – Ithaca
Kimberley Wong, Senior – Hong Kong/German Swiss International School
 
Kimberley Wong got off to an excellent start to her senior campaign, firing successive strong rounds to finish 4th overall at the St. Lawrence Invitational. She opened the tournament with a 75 (+3) and followed that with a 76 (+4), helping Ithaca finish in a tie for third as a team at the tournament.
 
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player – Nazareth
Lucas Bennett, Senior, Forward – Hilton, NY/Hilton
 
Lucas Bennett converted a diving header to the far post in the 40th minute as Nazareth defeated Morrisville State 1-0 on Friday. The win gave first year head coach Matt Tantalo a successful coaching debut and the win was the first for Nazareth since October 25, 2014.
 
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player –  Houghton
Jacob Dunnett, Senior, GK – Quispamsis, New Brunswick/Kennebecasis
 
Jacob Dunnett was named the tournament MVP in the Herb Lauffer tournament at Penn State Behrend. Dunnett made five saves on Friday as Houghton settled for a 1-1 tie against Penn State - Behrend but advanced by winning a PK shootout 4-2. In the championship game, Dunnett made two fantastic saves to secure a 1-0 win over Hiram on Saturday.
 
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player – Stevens
Gabby Mathelier, Senior, Midfield – Pomona, NY/Saddle Day River
 
Senior Gabby Mathelier scored one of the biggest goals of her career Saturday, rifling a shot from just inside the 18 yard box and beating the keeper in what turned out to be the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over No. 3 Messiah. The senior has netted three goals in two games so far this year, including two in the season-opener vs. Ramapo.
 
Women’s’ Soccer Defensive –  St. John Fisher College
Gabriella Cotugno, Senior, GK – Latham, NY/Shaker
 
Gabriella Cotugno helped Fisher to a 1-1 week allowing five goals in 180 minutes of action and making 24 saves. She registered 13 saves, one shy of her career-high, on Friday against SUNY Cortland. The following day, Fisher claimed a victory over Kean, as Cotugno make six of her 11 saves in the second half.
 
Women’s Tennis Player – Ithaca
Haley Kusak, Senior – Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland
 
Haley Kusak got off to a strong start to the 2016-17 season, posting victories in the top flight at singles and doubles in helping Ithaca to a 7-2 win over Stevens. Kusak combined with teammate Caroline Dunn to win 8-5 at first-flight doubles. She went on to dominate in her first-flight singles match, winning 6-1, 6-0.
 
Women’s Volleyball Player –  Nazareth
Maureen Thayer, Senior, Setter – Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker
 
Maureen Thayer helped the Golden Flyers to three wins in four matches at the Red Dragon Invitational at Cortland over the weekend as she amassed 134 assists (8.93 per set), 15 service aces (1.00 per set) and 74 digs (4.93 per set). Thayer registered 36 assists and 16 digs in the 3-1 win over Wells and finished with seven kills and 29 assists in the sweep against Coast Guard. She combined five kills, 40 assists, six aces and 25 digs in Saturday's five-set victory over Buffalo State. In the loss to Stockton she dished out 29 helpers to go with 23 digs.
 
Women’s Volleyball Rookie –  Alfred
Amber Smith, Freshman, OH – Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder
 
Amber Smith played a key role in helping secure the Saxons' best season start since 1991 with the Saxons opening with a three-match win streak and also ending a 17-year winless drought against Buffalo State. The weekend also produced the first time the Saxons took SUNY Cortland to five sets. Smith totaled 72 kills (4.0 kills per set) in her first collegiate outings with back-to-back 21-kill performances against Wells College and SUNY Cortland on Saturday. On the weekend she totaled 81 digs (4.5 per set), 15 blocks and 86.5 points (4.81 per set)
