The Houghton College men's soccer program has been awarded the NISOA Sportsmanship Award for their play during the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Tournament.

Head Coach Matthew Webb accepted the award on his team's behalf at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention in Los Angeles on January 13. The NISOA Sportsmanship Award winners were selected by the NISOA referees at each NCCAA National Championship.

"It is a real honor to be recognized for this award. To be recognized by the officials for this is a true testament to the character of our players," said Webb. "It was a good season, with lots of individual awards and recognition, but this is a true team award... for playing the game hard but also in the right spirit. I am proud of our players for demonstrating Christ on the field."
