KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 23, 2016)  – The Ithaca College and Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer teams were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a gold-level and silver-level recipients, respectively, of its Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award.

The award recognizes fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game. Ithaca and Stevens are two of 100 NCAA and junior college institutions to be recognized by the NSCAA.  An additional 64 high school programs were also recognized.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to NSCAA members at four levels. Teams honored at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (31-50%) levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team's total number of games played.
