Men's Ranking

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse program continues to garner preseason buzz as the Bombers found themselves listed in the Preseason Top-20 poll released by U.S. Lacrosse Magazine.

The Ithaca men checked in at No. 2 in the preseason poll, sitting one slot behind No. 1 and defending national champion Salisbury. It is the second time this preseason that the Bombers have been tabbed No. 2, as they also occupied the second spot in the preseason rankings released by Inside Lacrosse earlier this month.

The IC men are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2016. The Bombers went 20-2 a season ago, which included an Empire 8 Championship and a trip to the Quarterfinal Round of the Division III NCAA Tournament.

IC should once again field one of the explosive teams in the country, as it returns three USILA All-American honorees at attack in rising seniors John Januszkiewicz and Jack Shumway, as well as rising junior Jake Cotton. The trio combined for 241 points on 149 goals and 92 assists last year. Although the defense experienced some attrition due to graduation, it does bring back rising junior Winston Wenham who was also a USILA All-American honoree last season. All four were tabbed preseason All-Americans in a release earlier this month by Inside Lacrosse.
