E8 Spotlight: Alyson Baribault
The Empire 8 Conference is full of talented student-athletes and the E8 Spotlight is one way for fans to get to know them.
Alyson Baribault (Plantsville, CT/Southington) is a junior on the Utica College women’s swimming and diving team and majors in Psychology and Early Childhood and Childhood Education.
Why did you choose to attend Utica? I really liked the small atmosphere of the campus and I met some great people when I made my tour. And I really enjoyed the swim team.
What has been the greatest part of your experience as a college athlete? When we go to championships because we really come together as a team and it is great to see everyone succeed.
Who has been the most influential person during your athletic career? Why? My club coach. She was my coach starting at the age of 8 and helped me become the swimmer that I am.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I hope to be teaching in an Elementary school and possibly coaching.
What do you like most about competing in the E8? There is a lot of competition and seeing all of the fast swimmers.
What do you do in your spare time? Watch TV or take a nap.
Top 3 things on your bucket list? Travel outside of the United States. Tubing. Go to California.
