Quick Facts on 2017 E8 Field Hockey Tournament

The 2017 Empire 8 Athletic Conference (E8) Field Hockey Tournament will feature four teams battling for a chance to win the postseason conference championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The playoffs begin Friday, Nov. 3 with two semifinal matches and the Championship will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 on the campus of Washington and Jefferson College.

Parking
On Friday, all fans are directed to park in the American Legion Post 175 Lot which is located across from Cameron Stadium. The GPS address is:
168 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
On Friday and Saturday, team buses, game personnel (officials, game workers), and disabled visitors will park inside the stadium lot.
Our goal on Saturday is to provide parking for fans inside the stadium, but that will be on a first-come, first-serve basis until the lot is full.
Street parking is available both days. Free metered parking is available Saturday.

- The Empire 8 will employ a four team tournament format for the 11th straight year. Prior to the 2007 tournament, the E8 champion was determined based on the regular season finish.
- W&J has qualified for every tournament except for the 2013 season.
- Fisher is a seventh year program and participating in its sixth straight tournament.
- Utica has qualified for its sixth tournament in program history and for the first time since 2014.
- Houghton has qualified for the first time in program history.
- The #1 seed is 8-2 in the semifinal game of the tournament. #2 seed (7-3), #3 seed (3-7), #4 seed (2-8).
- The tournament has played out according to seeding four times.
- The #1 seed has won the conference championship five times (2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2016).
- The #2 seed has won the title three times (2007, 2012 and 2013).
- The #3 seed won the title in 2015.
- The #4 seed won the title in 2011.
- Fisher is 4-4 in the E8 tournament, including an 1-2 mark in the title game.
- W&J is 7-8 all-time in the E8 tournament and has played in the championship game six times with a 1-5 record.
- Utica is 6-2 overall in the E8 tournament and has played in the championship game three times, winning all three times.
