Soccer Teams Earn United Soccer Coaches Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches (formerly the National Soccer Coaches Association) announced its Team Academic Award winners for the 2016-17 academic year. The Empire 8 Athletic Conference was well-represented with five women's teams and four men's teams.
In total, 813 collegiate teams earned this award, with Elmira, Ithaca, Nazareth and Stevens Institute of Technology being four of 195 schools to have both the men's and women's soccer teams on the list.
And new E8 member Sage College also had both the men's and women's teams on the list.
In order to qualify for this award, teams must have a composite grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale for the 2016-17 academic year.
