Miller, Panko and Saade Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
GREENWOOD, IN – The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Soccer Teams have been announced, which recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Hartwick junior defender Madison Miller and Stevens Institute of Technology sophomore Julia Panko and Gaaby Saade were selected to the NCAA Division III District First Team.
Miller is a two-time Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Star. This fall, she helped the Hawks become Empire 8 Conference Co-Champions for the first time in program history while anchoring a defense that shutout nine of 10 league opponents. Millers carries a 3.74 GPA studying Math Education.
Panko owns a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering and was recently named the Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year. She led the Empire 8 in the scoring triple crown of goals, assists and points with 10, 8, and 28, respectively. She was a First-Team All-Ermpire 8 selection.
Saade boasts a 3.89 GPA as a biomedical engineering major. She led the Ducks with three game-winning goals this season and was second on the squad with nine goals, five assists and 23 points. She also scored the only postseason goal for the Ducks this year. She earned second-team honors from the Empire 8.
As First-team Academic All-District® honorees, they will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team AllAmerica honorees will be announced in December.
