Stevens Women's Volleyball's trio tabbed AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans

LEXINGTON, Ky. (November 16, 2017) – Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball sophomores Julie Greco, Casey King and Shelby Stewart were each named 2017 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Honorable Mention All-Americans Tuesday.
It's the second career honor for Stewart, while Greco and King reach the national stage for the first time in their careers.
Greco completed her regular season by averaging 9.76 assists per set, which included a 9.32 assists per set average over 57 sets against regionally-ranked opponents. The Thornwood, New York native increased her output to 10.14 assists in Empire 8 Conference play, leading to a Second Team honor for the sophomore setter. Greco handed out 30 or more assists 19 times, including a career-best 53 against Montclair State.
King, the Empire 8's co-Player of the Year, led the team with 3.37 kills per set and 4.11 points per set. The Wallington, New Jersey native collected 11 double-doubles and added 58 aces, 51 blocks and 309 digs to go along with her 387 kills. King was at her best against nationally-ranked opponents, averaging 3.75 kills per set and 2.75 digs per set to pace the team.
Stewart again ranked among the nation's leaders in blocks, ranking 12th in blocks per set (1.14) and 10th in total blocks (130), just one season after setting the Stevens record for total blocks (139). Stewart displayed more of a complete game as a sophomore, averaging 2.03 kills per set and tabbing the first 44 aces of her collegiate career. Stewart led the E8 by hitting an impressive .427 against conference opponents and hit .310 on the season.
