HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 1, 2017) – Sophomore midfielder Julia Panko of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team was named an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches of America late Thursday night. She is the first sophomore in program history to earn All-America honors after being named to the All-America third-team.

"This is a great honor for our program and for Julia," said head coach Jeff Parker. "She is being recognized for being one of the top student athletes in D-III soccer and joins a special group of individuals that have achieved this recognition as a part of the women's soccer program. It is something that she and her teammates will be very proud."

Panko was named First-Team All-East region by the United Soccer Coaches earlier this week, another history-making honor for the Millstone Township, New Jersey native. She was the first Stevens sophomore to earn that distinction as well.

She was the Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-conference and led the league in goals, assists and points to earn the league's Triple Crown. Her offensive totals included 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points on 81 shots. She netted two game-winning goals on the year.

Also a standout in the classroom, Panko was a First-Team Academic All-District Selection. She owns a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering. As a First-Team Academic All-District honoree, she advanced to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.

Panko led the team to its third-straight Empire 8 Championship and the Ducks were ranked as high as No. 14 in the nation this year.
