SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 2, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's indoor track & field teams began their 2017-18 season with a bang on Saturday at Springfield College. The Ducks placed first in eight events across the board in their season debut.

Andrew Loth, Alex Kainer and Katie Weeks set new-school-records in Stevens' first indoor action of the season on Saturday

Blue ribbons for the Duck men on Saturday included:
  • 60m - Andrew Loth, 1st, in a school-record time of  7.10 seconds
  • 300m - Alex Kainer, 1st, in a school-record time of 36.53 seconds
  • Pole Vault - Andy Accardi, 1st, 4.25m
  • Weight Throw - Parker Dimock, 1st, 14.92m
 
For the women, they took first in the following events:
  • Shot Put - Katie Weeks, 1st, school record 13.06m
  • Weight Throw – Katie Weeks, 1st, 13.46m
  • 300m - Gina Dello Russo, 1st, personal best 41.04 seconds
  • 3,000m – Mary Visca, 1st, 10:19.06
 
"This was a great meet for both men and women," said head coach Justin Wood. "They prepared well, ready to compete and the results showed that. I think the entire team is excited for next semester and to see what we can do." 
 
The Ducks will return to competition after winter break at the New York City Armory on January 13.
