Nazareth breaks records at Bomber Invitational
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth participated in the Ithaca Bomber Invitational and set several new school records throughout the meet.
Freshman Seth Farrand continued his assault on the school 50-yard freestyle record as he finished fourth with a record time of :20.96. He also set a school record in the 100-yard freestyle with a third-place time of :46.11.
Farrand was Nazareth's catalyst in the men's meet as he also anchored the 200 medley relay that finished third with a school-record time of 1:35.63. Senior Cannon Connors, junior Rob Coastsworth and freshman John Koch were the other relay members. Farrand had a :20.60 time as the freestyle anchor.
Farrand also anchored the 200-yard free relay that finished second in 1:26.00. Farrand had a blistering :20.52 anchor leg to seal the school record relay time. Conners, Mark Dunkelberg and Joshua Welch also swam. Farrand swam :45.81 on the anchor leg of the 400 free relay as Nazareth finished third with another school record of 3:10.70. Connors, Alex LaPoint and Koch.
Individually, Koch broke the record in the 100 butterfly with an 11th-place time of :51.56. He was followed closely by Farrand, who swam :51.59. Koch also broke a school record in the 200 butterfly by taking fourth place in 1:54.26.
