Twenty members of the Empire 8 cross country programs were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honorees, while four men's and five women's teams were recognized as All-Academic squads, announced Thursday, February 9. 

A total of 664 student-athletes (374 women, 290 men) from across the country were honored for having at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average while finishing in the top-25 percent at their respective NCAA Regional Championships. 

A total of 216 women's teams and 173 men's teams earned All-Academic recognition for compiling at least a 3.10 cumulative grade point average and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet. 

Stevens Institute of Technology men's team earned a 3.46 team gpa. Ithaca (3.42), St. John Fisher College (3.32) and Nazareth College (3.21) were also honored on the men's side.

The Ithaca women posted a team GPA of 3.60, which ranked the highest within the E8 women's teams. Joining Ithaca with the team honor is Stevens (3.49), Utica College (3.36), FIsher (3.30) and Nazareth (3.17).

Individually nine men and 11 women met the requirement to land on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.
