Helly Qualifies for NCAA Nationals on Day 2 of Regional Diving Meet

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's divers returned to the pool on Saturday for the second day of the NCAA Division III Region Four Diving Championships at the Ithaca College Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. The day presented one final chance for the Bombers to post additional qualifiers for next month's NCAA National Championships in Shenendoah, Texas.
 
With juniors Nickie Griesemer and Lindsey Suddaby having already punched their tickets to Texas during Friday's three-meter finals, classmates Katie Helly and Alyssa Wishart hoped to join their teammates with strong performances on the women's one-meter during the early session on Saturday.
 
Helly ended up achieving the goal with an overall composite score earning her the seventh and final qualifying slot from the region. She finished sixth in yesterday's three-meter with a score of 455.05 and marked a 12th-place score of 386.15 on the one-meter today.
 
Griesemer once again led the Bombers in the finals, posting a 446.10 to finish third in today's one-meter. Wishart marked a seventh-place finish for the second straight day with a 416.80. Suddaby finished 10th with a 404.90.

Nazareth diver Desiree Kline, completed her stellar sophomore season with a ninth place finish in the 1-meter diving competition.  Kline collected 409.95 points for ninth out of 29 divers.
