FIsher Selected to Host First and Second Rounds of NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship field was set Monday as the St. John Fisher College men's basketball team, which earned its way into the field by virtue of winning the Empire 8 Conference's automatic bid over the weekend, was selected as one of 16 host sites for the first and second rounds of this year's championship beginning Friday.
Fisher, which owns a 22-5 overall record including 10 straight wins, will take on St. Lawrence, which earned an at-large bid into the field of 64 with a 20-6 overall mark, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. On the other side of the bracket, nationally-ranked No. 12 Tufts (20-6), which also received an at-large bid, will face the Salem State Vikings who won the MASCAC Championship with a 17-10 mark at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
The winner of each game will meet on Saturday with that winner advancing to the Sweet 16.
43 conference were granted berths into the championship after winning their respective conferences while 21 teams received an at-large bid.
