Nazareth defeats Thomas for first win, 7-2

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Nazareth gained its first men's tennis victory of the 2017 season Monday as the Golden Flyers defeated Thomas College of Waterville, Maine, 7-2.
Nazareth won five of the six singles matches with junior
Lamar Hurt and freshman
Evan Vogue each taking tiebreakers at first and sixth singles respectively. Hurt won 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 and Vogue won 3-6, 7-5, 10-7. Freshmen
Dan Freilicher and
Jameson Keppeler each won in straight sets as did sophomore
Ryley Amond.
In doubles action, Vogue and keppeler combined for an 8-2 win at #2 and Amond and
Louis Rogers won 8-1 at #3.
Nazareth plays again Wednesday against Carroll College at 9 a.m.
