Stevens Institute of Technology junior Stephanie Schnelzer was named the Division III IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The honor was revealed on Wednesday night's, "Fast Break: IWLCA Lacrosse Weekly" broadcasted on the Lax Sports Network. Early in the week, Schnelzer was named Empire 8 Goalie of The Week Monday for the third time this season.

"Steph has been so consistent all season," head coach Celine Cunningham said. "Her poise under pressure has been a key factor in our success."

Schnelzer posted an impressive .516 save percentage in 120 minutes of action against No. 7 Trinity College and No. 14 St. John Fisher College. She made seven saves against the Bantams in and then made nine saves against the Cardinals as the Ducks rallied for a 15-9 victory to open conference play. Her save on Fisher's Cori Holbrook's free position shot with 18 seconds remaining in the first half was a key moment in the victory as it prevented the Cardinals from stealing any momentum going into halftime after the Ducks rallied from an early hole to take a 9-5 lead.
