Ithaca Women Repeat as ECAC Champs
RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 4 Ithaca College women's track & field program repeated as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III champions after totaling 141 team points on Saturday at Glazer Arena inside the Athletics and Events Center.
Ithaca bested the field by 51 points, as Rowan University was the runner-up.
Sophomore
Emilie Mertz won the 800-meter run in 2:16.20, which just beat the runner-up by .04 seconds.
Senior
Brandy Smith won the weight throw with a mark of 16.91 meters (55 feet, 5 ¾ inches), which was nearly a meter further than the runner-up.
Freshman
Sarah Rudge took second place honors in the 1,000-meter run at 3:04.10, while junior
Amber Edwards was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.00 seconds. Junior
Sierra Grazia was another second place finisher in the mile run with a time of 5:10.20.
The 4x400-meter relay team took sixth in a time of 4:01.51. Swarthout, and freshmen
Jessica Competiello, Lindsay Castle and Juila Rand.
Sophomore
Britney Swarthout completed the 500-meter dash in 1:19.63 to place third, while freshman
Alexandria Rheaume took fourth in the 400-meter dash, as she crossed the line in 58.26 seconds. Rheaume also claimed fifth in the 200-meter dash at 25.74 seconds.
Junior
Caitlin Noonan took third in the shot put at 15.93 meters (52' 3 ¼"). Junior
Denise Ibarra completed the 3,000-meter run in 10:08.45, senior
Kristin Lynn completed the 1K in 3:06.38 to place fifth.
Freshman
Estelle Yedynak took fourth in the high jump at 1.56 meters (5' 1 1/4").
Freshman
Maggie Nickerson, Alex Kindig, Madelyn MConnon and
Kristin Lynn finished seventh in the 4x800-meter relay at 9:58.66.
Sophomore
Gianna Folz took eighth in the 60 hurdles in 9.60 seconds.
STEVENS

Gina Dello Russo continued her outstanding first season by posting a personal-best time of 57.57 in the 400-meter dash in a second-place finish. The
UTICA
The Pioneers earned six team points over the course of the two day championship.
Utica's 4x800 meter relay team of
MaKenna Cooley,
Bryanna Mazzella,
Lesley Nicosia and
Abby Schaible shattered the school-record and placed fourth overall to earn five points for the Pioneers with a time of 9:45.41. Cooley also tallied a point for the women as she posted a time of 2:20.02 and earned eighth place in the women's 800 meter race.
Utica's
Jade Jenkins placed 12
th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.59 meters.
Breanna Featherson placed 10
th in the women's 500 meter race with a time of 1:22.16, while
Brooke Catalano placed 13
th in the 500 with a time 1:24.53.
NAZARETH
Emily Soeder picked up a sixth place finish in the high jump with a mark of at 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1 ¼ inches).
Rounding out the day for Nazareth was Samantha Goble who ran to a 12
th place finish in the 800 (2:22.99).
St. JOHN FISHER
Lauren Wiard took eighth place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.08.
Sophomore
Juliette Miller would place 13
th overall in the 100-meter run crossing the finish in 3:08.89, just one second off her personal record.
Tayler Dence competed in the 200-meter dash where she placed 15
th amongst competitors with a time of 26.48, under one-tenth of a second off her personal best time.
ALFRED
Danielle Perry was Alfred's lone representative at the ECAC championships. She competed in the triple jump and finished 15
th (10.51 meters).
