Ithaca College attacker Jack Shumway and Hartwick College goalie Connor O'Brien  have been named the USILA/BSN Sports Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for the week of February 27 – March 5, 2017.

Ithaca got off to a fantastic start to the 2017 season this past week. The fourth-ranked men's squad amassed 33 goals in going 2-0 with a 19-2 victory over Lycoming and a 14-9 triumph over 12th-ranked RPI.  Shumway tallied six first-half goals in the Bombers 19-2 whitewashing of Lycoming on Wednesday, while he added six more points on Sunday, recording five goals and one assist in the Bombers' 14-9 victory over the nationally-ranked Engineers.

Trailing early in the contest against RPI, it was Shumway that sparked Ithaca's comeback, while his lone assist came on the eventual game-winning tally by teammate Jake Cotton.

O'Brien made 22 saves in two Hartwick victories. He made nine saves while allowing only five goals in a 6-5 win over Oswego in the team's season opener on Wednesday. He then made 13 stops in an 11-10 victory at MIT, making seven saves in the second quarter alone.

For the week, O'Brien registered a goals against average of 7.50. He also contributed four ground balls and a caused turnover.
