Fisher and Ithaca Stay Ranked by NFCA
For the third straight week, St. John Fisher is the No. 2 team in the
National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 softball rankings. Ithaca College is No 25 for the second straight week.
Texas-Tyler is the unanimous No. 1 team for the fifth straight week and 15th time in the last 16 weeks.
Fisher (6-0) is off to a strong start in the 2017 season as they have shutout four opponents. As a team Fisher is batting .400 with 66 hits, while they are holding their opponents to a .130 batting average.
The Cardinals return to play on Thursday when they face No. 15 Coe College at 3:30 p.m. before playing No. 11 Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 5:45 p.m.
The Bombers open up their season with a doubleheader against Whittier College on Sunday, March 12. The first game is slated for a noon start. Over the course of the California spring break trip, Ithaca will play five doubleheaders.
