PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team earned its first Empire 8 win of the season, downing Houghton College, 15-1, at Growney Stadium on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Fisher improves to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the Empire 8. Houghton falls to 2-7 (0-4 E8).

Prior to the contest, Fisher honored its five seniors in Jordan Johnson, Hayley Peets, Heather Peets, Abbie Reed and Jamie Wallace, for all of the hard work and dedication they have put into the program.

As the score shows, Fisher had no trouble finding offense. The Cardinals put up seven goals in the first half, led by Mackenzie LeVan's hat trick. The second half would be a similar story with Fisher piling in eight more.

Jordan Johnson topped all players on the field in points with six from two goals and four assists. The Canandaigua, N.Y. native also made her way into the College's history books as on her first assist she became the all-time leader in career assists with 88.

Aiding in the offense was LeVan, who added one more goal in the second period to give her four on the day. Molly Rourke pitched in as well, setting a career-high in points with three (2G, 1A). In all, nine Fisher players finished with a goal.

On the draw, Fisher controlled 11 compared to the Highlanders seven. Morgan Young and Cori Holbrook led the way, controlling three a piece.

Goaltending duties were split on the day with Hayley Peets defending the net for the first 30 minutes before being relieved by Morgan Hayes at the half. The two combined for six saves on the day, with each Cardinal recording three.
