VERONA, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team topped visiting Sage 8-1 in its season opener at the Turning Stone Tennis Dome in Verona, NY on Wednesday.  Newcomer Christopher Dunn (Schenectady, NY) won his first singles match against Nelson Jimenez 6-3, 6-3 and added a victory in first doubles (8-6) as he teamed up with Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) to help down the Gators.

Garrett Noake (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) won at second singles, 6-1, 6-0 and Litvak added a victory at third singles over Nate Miller (6-1, 7-4).

Jacob Nigolian (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) defeated David Sexton 6-1, 6-4 in fourth singles and he also teamed up with Garrett Noake (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) in second doubles to earn another team point for the Pioneers.

Senior Luc Boby (Chicago, IL/Kalamazoo (NAHL)) won 6-1, 6-3 in his first collegiate tennis match at sixth singles and he partnered with Patrick Restuccio (Clermont, FL/Legacy Charter) at third doubles to help defeat Sage's Christian Rosario and Sebastian Vickers.
