HANOVER, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's golf team put forth a solid effort in their spring season opener on Monday, but it wasn't enough to overcome a hot King's team in a 298-324 loss at Wyoming Valley Country Club.

The Royals (7-3) placed six players at 82 or under, but King's had all six players break 80 en route to the victory. Scranton was led by sophomore Kyle Hayes (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay), who shot nine-over-par 80 on the par-71 layout.

Senior Steven Lambrinakos (Stamford, Conn./Trinity) and freshman Erik Ridley (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) both shot 81. And the trio of senior Tyler Huggins (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area), sophomore Andrew Milisits (Northampton, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and freshman Calvin Ralph (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley)each finished with 82.
