Bonk Breaks School Record at Gerry Gravel Classic

Westfield, MA - The Utica College men's track and field team competed at the Gerry Gravel Classic, hosted by Westfield State University, on Saturday. The team came in first place at the meet out of five teams, with a total of 202 points. 

Senior Sam Bonk (Williamsville, NY/Clarence) broke the school-record in the hammer throw event, with his career-best distance of 50.95 meters and came in third place at the meet. The previous record was held by teammate Jon Hoover (Ilion, NY/Ilion), who recorded a throw of 47.65 meters last year. 

Nicodemus Gambill (Rochester, NY/East High) did not disappoint at the meet as he ran a time of 21.58 in the 200M dash, to win the event and record the third fastest time in the country for Division III.
