Elmira and Susquehanna Compete at Gettysburg Spring Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. -- The Elmira College and Susquehanna University men's golf teams opened the spring portion of the 2016-17 schedule with a showing on Thursday at the Gettysburg College Spring Invitational.

On the team leaderboard, the Soaring Eagles finished the par-71 course just one stroke behind eighth-place Elizabethtown College (349, +65) and one ahead of 10th-place Susquehanna University (351, +67). The host Bullets (313, +29), took home the team title, while Charlie Zane of Dickinson College won the event with a 2-over par 73.

The duo of Dan Gridley '18 and Charl Pretorius '19 capped off the 18-hole tournament with identical scores of 86 (+15), resulting in a two-way tie for 38th place. Brian Demo '17 recorded a 17-over 88, just three strokes off of his season-best pace. Demo placed in a tie for 41st in the 53-man field

William McCafferty shot a 10 over par 81 to lead Susquehanna. McCafferty tied for 20th in the final individual standings.

Brendan Bolah was the second best Susquehanna finisher at +12, 83 while Matt Schaffner carded a 19-over par 90 and Rob Johnson rounded out the River Hawks scoring with a 26-over par 97.
