Hounds Finish Third in Moravian Spring Invitational at Southmoore

BATH, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team hosts its annual Spring Invitational at Southmoore Golf Course Wednesday, and the Greyhounds finished third of the seven teams competing in the tournament.
The Hounds posted a team score of 320 Wednesday afternoon in their first full round of the spring season after being rained out four holes into the opener last week.
"Overall, the guys played good for the first round of the year," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "A couple of guys struggled early but hung in there to save a decent round."
Sophomore Joe Rochelle led the squad with a round of 78 that included two birdies and eight pars as he finished in a tie for tenth of the 37 golfers. Freshman Nick Kuhn and sophomoreKody Long tied for 13th with rounds of 80 with Kuhn making one birdie and nine pars and Long adding two birdies and eight pars while freshman Andrej Skrbinsekwas tied 17th with an 81 that included one birdie and seven pars.
Senior Dan Leppert and junior Matt Miksiewicz were tied for 20th with rounds of 82 with Leppert shooting seven pars and Miksiewicz making eight pars while juniorKevin Kunkle was 22nd with an 83 that included one birdie and eight pars. Skrbinsek and Miksiewicz played as individuals.
Moravian is now scheduled to return to action on Friday, April 14 in the third round and first spring 18 holes of the 2016-17 Empire 8 Conference Tournament at the Hershey Country Club.
