Savacool Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

Josh Savacool of the Ithaca College baseball team has been named to the
D3baseball.com Team of the Week after his efforts during Ithaca's 4-0 week from April 16-23. D3baseball.com released its national team on Monday evening.
During the perfect week for the Bombers, which extended their winning streak to 10 straight games, Savacool went 9-for-17 (.529) with seven runs scored, four RBI, two walks, a triple and home run.
He began the week with a 4-for-5 opener against Houghton on April 19 with two runs scored and followed it up in Game Two with a 3-for-4 outing. IC swept both ends of the doubleheader by 7-1 and 9-4 final scores, respectively. Against New Paltz, he drove in three runs on a home run in the 6-0 shutout win. Savacool wrapped-up his busy week by going 1-for-3 with two runs scored, as Ithaca overcame a big early deficit to score a 12-11 walk-off win against Rochester on Sunday.
Since the beginning of April, Savacool has raised his average from .203 to .275 and has driven in 13 of his 15 runs on the season. The Baldwinsville, N.Y. native has also hit all three of his career home runs during the month of April.
