LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lindsey Thayer of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College softball team has been named the Louisville Slugger National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Pitcher of the Week as announced on Wednesday.

Junior right-hander Thayer earned the pitching honor for a second straight week off an epic three-game stretch. The St. Lawrence High product opened her week with a no-hitter against Keuka, then tied the NCAA Division III record with 21 strikeouts over seven innings in a three-hit shutout of Nazareth. Then, she collected her 1,000th career strikeout and tossed a perfect game against Alfred.

For the week, she tallied 60 strikeouts and allowed just three hits and three walks over 23 innings in the circle. Thayer is the current NCAA Division III leader in strikeouts (266), hits per seven innings (2.15), earned-run average (0.32) and strikeouts per seven innings (14).
