Fisher Defeats Nazareth
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team defeated Empire 8 Conference rival Nazareth College on Saturday on the road. The 9-0 win pushes Fisher's overall record to 5-8 and 4-2 in the conference.
Kevin Kulawiec played at first singles where he won 6-2, 6-3, while in the second spot was
Quinn Magiera who defeated his opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. In the third flight was
John Miller, who won in a tiebreaker match 3-6, 6-3, 10-7. At fourth singles was
Jacob Zarzycki who won in a convincing fashion 6-1, 6-3, before
Jarrett Pelton took fifth singles, winning 6-2, 6-1. In the sixth and final spot was
Dustin McCullough who won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles action, Kulawiec and Magiera teamed up to win in the first flight 8-1, while in the second spot was the team of Zarzycki and McCullough who won 8-3. At third doubles were
Jonathan Harper and
Adam Moran who would go on to win 8-2.
