Runyon Named IWLCA Fast Break Division III Co-Offensive Player of the Week
IWLCA Release
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Fifth-year senior attacker
Ally Runyon has been one of the most prolific scorers in all of NCAA Division III this season. She earned some national recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Wednesday evening, as she was named Fast Break Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
The Fairport, N.Y., native posted two big efforts in helping the Bombers to a 1-1 record this past week. She registered five goals and an assist in a six-point effort in IC's narrow 13-12 loss to then-No. 11 Hamilton College. Runyon followed that with a five-goal barrage in the opening 12:14 in Ithaca's 17-4 rout of Houghton on Saturday.
No stranger to impressive offensive seasons, Runyon has reached new heights this season. She has already surpassed her previous career highs, entering Saturday's regular season finale with 71 points and 60 goals. Her 10-goal week helped Runyon become the first player in program history to reach the 200-career-goal milestone.
