Katherine Pitman won the pole vault, junior
Taryn Cordani set a 33-year old record in the 10,000-meter run and senior
Brandy Smith placed third in the discus.
Pitman entered the college women's championship portion of the pole vault and topped a field of seven NCAA Division I athletes and another from a Canadian institution with a mark of 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5.25 inches). Pitman was tied with an athlete from the University of Oklahoma, but took the top spot due to total attempts.

Cordani took second overall in the 10K in 34:27.37 to shatter the previous school record of 35:14.40, which was set by Betsy Kneale in 1984. Cordani only followed a runner from the University of Connecticut, who finished in 33:49.30, and beat out the next closest Division III entry by 42 seconds. She now ranks first nationally by .23 seconds.
Smith measured out 50.15 meters (164' 6") in the discus to finish third overall and behind a pair of DI entries from Auburn University and UConn. She was the lone DIII athlete in the field and improves upon the second-best mark in DIII this season – 48.26m to 50.15m.
Smith also entered the shot put and took 11th out of 55 competitors with a mark of 14.00 meters (45' 11.25". That mark puts Smith in fifth on the DIII list this season.
Senior
Francesca Boylan posted a mark of 45.22 meters (148' 4") to finish 28th in the event. Boylan was the only DIII participant in the event.
Junior
Denise Ibarra finished 35th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:00.24, which was the second fastest time by a DIII runner.
Ithaca's 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore
Lusmer Quintana, freshmen
Alexandria Rheaume and
Amanda Wetmore, and junior
Amber Edwards clocked a time of 49.24 seconds to finish 57th overall and third among DIII entries.
The 4x400-meter squad of Rheaume, sophomores
Britney Swarthout and
Viktoria Schultz, and freshman
Jessica Competiello posted a 58th place finish and third in DIII in a time of 4:02.21.
Ithaca's 4x200-meter relay team of Edwards, Schultz, Wetmore and Quintana will run tomorrow at 2 p.m.
