2017 Men's Lacrosse Tournament Set
On the final day of the Empire 8 regular season the seeding for the men's lacrosse postseason tournament has been decided.
The two semifinals matches will take place on Wednesday, May 3 on the campuses of Stevens Institute of Technology and Ithaca College. The two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, May 6 in the Empire 8 Championship on the campus of the highest remaining seed. The winner will earn an the NCAA automatic bid and advance to the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
Stevens had the top seed secured last week but had its perfect E8 record spolied by Nazareth in the regular season finale. Stevens and Ithaca each finished with a 7-1 but the Ducks won the regular season head to head game to earn the tiebreaker.
With Nazareth's win over Stevens today, the Golden Flyers secured the third season and Hartwick clinched its tournament berth a few days ago for its first E8 postseason trip since 2005.
