2017 Men's Tennis Tournament Set
Wins by Stevens Institute of Technology and Houghton College on the final day of the 2017 regular season solidified the seeds and tournament field for the 2017 Empire 8 Men’s Tennis Championships.
Nazareth College will serve as the host of this year's championship. The two semifinals matches will take place on Friday, May 5 and the semifinal winners will meet on Saturday May 6 in the Empire 8 Championship.The winner will earn an the NCAA automatic bid and advance to the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament.
Top seeded Stevens will play fourth-seeded Houghton in a first round matchup. Second-seeded Ithaca College and third-seeded St. John Fisher College will meet in the other semifinal.
Friday, May 5
No. 4 Houghton vs No. 1 Stevens
No. 3 Fisher vs No. 2 Ithaca
Outdoor - One match (#2 seed Ithaca vs. play #3 Seed Fisher) will be played indoors at Mendon Racquet Club. The other match (#1 seed Stevens vs. #4 seed Houghton will play at Nazareth College.
Rain/Indoor - Both matches would be at Mendon Racquet Club. Both would have a start time of 4pm (Warm-up at 3pm).
