Fisher Earns First Win of the Season
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team earned its first win of the season on Saturday in a non-conference matchup with the Lakers of Oswego State. Fisher swept in both singles and doubles, winning the match 9-0. With the win, the Cardinals improve their record to 1-6 on the season.
Doubles pair
Kevin Kulawiec and
Quinn Magiera beat their first-flight opponents in straight sets at 8-0. In the second spot,
Jacob Zarzycki and
Adam Moran would battle hard with their rivals and came out on top, winning 8-6. The third doubles team of
Jonathan Harper and
Dustin McCullough won 8-3.
In singles play, Kulawiec took the first position yet again, winning 6-1, 6-1. Magiera would play in the second spot, also winning 6-1, 6-1. In the third flight was Zarzycki, who beat his opponent 6-3, 6-1, while
John Miller would win 6-2, 7-5.
Jarrett Pelton and McCullough would finish out singles play, both winning their matches.
Fisher returns to action on Saturday when they take on the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology in its first conference match of the season.
