Canton, NY – Seth Douglas and
Edward Malinoski, Jr. have both been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.
Douglas, who landed a spot on the team at third base, hit .556 (5-for-9) with 2 home runs, three runs, a double, and drove in seven runs in a 2-0 week for the Roos. He opened the week going 3-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI. He also pitched two innings giving up just two hits and no earned runs with four strike outs. In SUNY Canton's season finale he finished 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and drove in five runs. He finishes the season with nine home runs and 39 RBI. His nine home runs breaks his own single-season home run record that he set last season when he hit eight. He also owns the career home run record in just three seasons with 20.
Malinoski, who earned the spot at second base, hit .571 (4-for-7) with two walks, a .667 on-base percentage, 1.429 slugging percentage as he finished with a home run, three doubles, five runs and drove in four runs in a 2-0 week for the Roos. He opened the week 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, drove in four runs and hit his first career home run in 15-3 win at Plattsburgh State. He followed that up going 1-for-2 with two runs and drawing a pair of walks in a 9-6 win v. Utica.
