Fisher Sees Season End at NCAA Championship

HOWEY IN THE HILLS, Fla. – The St. John Fisher College men's golf team saw its season come to an end on Wednesday as the Cardinals fell short of making the cut at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at the Mission Inn Resort and Club. Fisher, which played its second round on the Par-72 6,888 yard Las Colinas Golf Course, finished its tournament with a two-day combined score of 631 (+55), which was good for 24th place overall. To make the cut and move on in the championship field, a team had to be among the top 18 scores. After 36 holes, Huntingdon College leads the field at +8 while Wittenberg sits in second place just four strokes back at +12. Guilford College (+17) is third while Grensboro (+21) and Texas Tyler (+25) round out the top five.
Individually,
Jeff Palmerino finished his tournament tied for 87th place overall with a two-day total of 156 (+12). Palmerino shot a 79 on day two, which included a birdie on the fifth hole.
Colin McGaugh finished tied for 87th place as well at +12 after a second round 80.
Karl Deuble tied for 111th place at 15-over-par. The senior shaved off one stroke on his second round score after birdieing the par-five 13th. Teammate

Joel Jakubowicz tied for 159th place with a combined total of 165 (+21).
